Giving back to the community is an important part of business and my personal life. As Desmond Tutu observed, “do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
When participating as a contractor working for a hotel, I am mirroring a positive image back onto the hotel. But more importantly, it is the image reflected back at myself that warms my heart. Thus, community pride and service helps to not only put a heartbeat back into businesses I work with, but also fuels my own inner heartbeat.
In the past, I have participated in the Adopt-A-School Reading Program and the UCLA and USC Pediatrics, Christmas Charity Gift Drives and Distribution. I also volunteer and donate monetary donations and discarded linens for the SPCALA Long Beach Animal Shelter, The Long Beach Homeless Shelter, and The Road Home, a homeless shelter in Salt Lake City, Utah.
