Eric Roiko has had an impressive career spanning over 31+ years’ working in the Hospitality Industry. Recognizing the need for a short-term interim hotel management company, Eric developed his own alternative hotel management concept. With this new concept, owners and hotel investors who work with Eric, can quickly maximize their investments in a short period of time without a long-term contract. Eric has managed and facilitated extensive hotel renovations and brand conversions. He works to create and implement a business project plan to stabilize costs by working with his own business brand of “putting the heartbeat back into business.”
Eric is known by past clients as “the hotel turnaround guy.” Eric often enters into a stagnant environment and produces positive cultural, business, and financial changes, along with astounding results, but does so by utilizing existing employees and building them up and training them. He is a “people enthusiast” augmented by the hands-on experience from delivering speaking engagements and business model motivation and leadership trainings to diverse audiences.
In the past, Eric has successfully held executive leadership roles with hotel companies such as Marriott Hotels and Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton Inn, plus independent hotels and resorts. In these roles, he managed the daily operations and oversaw extensive hotel renovations.
Eric began his hospitality career in the restaurant business, and then joined Marriott Hotels and Resorts. After receiving the award “Beverage Manager of the Year for the Northeast Region” at the Boston Marriott Hotel Newton, he transferred to the Boston Marriott Long Wharf Hotel where he held positions in catering and sales. Eric’s passion for hotel management began here as he eagerly accepted the Manager on Duty role at every opportunity.
Eric attended a Marriott Sales Training School in Mexico, at the newly opened Marriott Casa Magna Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Eventually, he secured a sales manager position with the Marriott Casa Magna Mexico Resorts and relocated to Los Angeles, CA, to open the Marriott Mexico Resorts sales office. Eric continued to develop lifelong business relationships with his accounts located in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
It was in 2009 that Eric began partnering with hotel management companies, ownership groups, and hotel investors to acquire branded and non-branded hotels. After an acquisition, Eric assumes the role of General Manager to manage the daily operations while overseeing major renovations and re-branding of these underperforming hotels. Eric quickly identified that a hotel’s success was enhanced through the empowerment of employees. He created a motivational leadership workbook called “Calculating Emotional Identifiers: The last 20 steps of a customer’s decision are the first 20 steps of their experience.” This workbook portrays a unique perspective and blends Time Management and Organizational Leadership concepts that can be adapted for any type of business. Eric personally utilizes these twenty steps to turn a failing hotel into a successful business.
Eric instills a sense of pride into each of his hotels by personally taking an interest in the hotel’s local community. He volunteers time and services to local charities, conventions, Visitors Bureau’s, and other community leadership organizations. By doing so, he helps to enhance the value of these hotels. Eric believes you have to have a healthy balance of business and personal time to be successful. When Eric is not in the hotel, you will find him enjoying the sunshine in Southern California, or cheering on his favorite NHL hockey team.
